Special Orthosis

Charcot restraint Orthotic walker ( CROW)

The Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walker, or CROW, is a rigid boot designed to accommodate and support a foot with Charcot neuroarthropathy (CN). The CROW consists of a fully enclosed ankle/foot orthotic with a rocker-bottom sole. It is a common treatment used after acute CN has calmed down to minimize further deformity and prevent ulcer development.CN occurs when bones and joints in the foot fracture, break up or pop out of place with minimal or no known direct injury. This deformity is most commonly seen in people with diabetes.

STEENBEEK BRACE/DENNIS BROWN SPLINT

Steenbeek brace and Dennis brown splint, both are foot abduction  brace essential orthotic for maintaining correction in congenital talipes equinovarus treated with Ponseti method used up to 3 to 4 years of age.

Patellar tendon bearing(PTB) brace

PTB brace is used for unloading the lower leg and foot in cases of fractures, ulcers etc. The weight is taken by patellar tendon of body and then directly transferred to ground through the brace.

Carbon fibre dynamic AFO

Carbon fibre AFOs are prefabricated from advanced prepreg carbon composite material and help users with dorsiflexion weakness walk more naturally. These AFOs are lightweight, low profile, and extremely tough. And their dynamic design provides a more physiological and symmetrical gait, offering fluid rollover and excellent energy return. An open heel design helps to ensure slim fit and they can fit comfortably inside almost any shoe. These AFOs are very useful in partial foot amputation also.

Floor reaction orthosis.

  1. Floor reaction Orthosis (FRO) or ground reaction ankle floor Orthosis is widely used in providing stable and comfortable gait for polio and cerebral palsy patients suffering from unstable and buckling knee joint. FRO is simply an AFO with special design for a particular function. The final design is always decided after proper evaluation of the patient. This Orthosis plays a valuable role in stabilizing the knee of Polio patient walking with hand support to the knee (Hand to knee gait) to avoid falling while walking.
